The problem
Party games are played together in a room, frequently where connectivity is poor or metered. Most equivalents demand an account and a live connection to start a match. The goal was a single app where several people share one device and start playing instantly, with zero network dependency.
The approach
Flame for game rendering
The board games run on the Flame game engine rather than the widget tree, which keeps animation smooth and separates game loop and rendering concerns from the surrounding app shell.
One shell, many games
Each game implements a shared interface for lifecycle, turn handling and scoring, so games can be added without reworking navigation, persistence or the ad layer.
Genuinely offline
Game state, quiz banks and scores persist locally through Hive. There is no login wall and no network call on the critical path to starting a match.
Ads that don't interrupt play
AdMob placements are restricted to natural breaks — between rounds and on result screens — rather than mid-match, so monetisation doesn't degrade the experience.
The outcome
Published on both the Play Store and App Store. Bundling several games behind one shared shell means new titles ship as incremental additions rather than new apps.
